Steam & Excursion > T&P 610 on the Freedom TrainDate: 03/18/23 10:47 T&P 610 on the Freedom Train Author: gcm Feb 26
Reading all the interesting posts on the possible Freedom Train for 2026 here is a look back at the 1976 version. Soon after restoration was complete, 610 picked up the train from the 4449 in Austin and it ran on the Missouri Pacific to Houston. I spent a fun day chasing and here it is arriving in Bryan,Tx. We stopped in Bryan for water. Our schedule says 8:00 into Bryan, but I don’t remember how close to that we were. SR Date: 03/19/23 16:14 Re: T&P 610 on the Freedom Train Author: MP4093 Great photo. I helped with the restoration and got to ride behind her in the tool car on a couple of segments. The last segment Dallas to Ft Worth without diesels was a run for the ages since they thought it would be the last time it ran. Ex T&P crew on the ex T&P double track, working her.
