Greenbrier Express at Cass
Author: aehouse

The Greenbrier Express is at Cass, W.V., on Saturday, May 20, preparing to depart for Durbin, inaugurating regularly scheduled service on the upper 15 miles of the Chesapeake and Ohio Greenbrier Subdivision. The majority of the remote and scenic line had been abandoned in 1978, and the line between Durbin and Cass had been washed out by floods in 1985. A multi-year restoration effort by the Durbin and Greenbrier Valley Railroad, and the state of West Virginia, has now reopened the route. (My photo)
