Did that whistle end up  on 4014?

No. As far as I know, 3985's whistle is from 4004. I'm not sure if it ever had a different whistle on it other than Steve Lee's IC whistle between 1981-2010?

I hope the whistle went with 3985, I asked the folks at silvis about that last November and they said it "should" have come with one. It wasn't on the locomotive when it was delivered is all I can say for sure...

Ed said in a FB post last November that supposedly it was going with. I asked him if that (whistle), the double dynamos and numberboards were going back with it. Who knows? Hopefully they tune it because ever since 2000's it sounded hoarse. Last time it was used was on 844 in 2011 for North Platte railroad days.

I dont know about the dynamos but the number boards went on 4014. Personally I prefer the sound of 3985s whistle, it is blown with lower pressure so it will sound a little different anyways. In my opinion it has been the voice of 3985 since it's 1980 rebuild and makes it unique to the locomotive.

Way to go Rat, I'm surprised these videos I never downloaded when they 1ST came out, now I got 'em stashed on my computer, way to go man!

I will do that, only saw her twice, and I still wish I saw her back in 94!
