Author: RuleG

On March 23, the Colorado Railroad Museum will be observing the 75th anniversary of the California Zephyr.   This will include:
  • Re-christening of the “Dome Car Monument,” which was erected alongside the Zephyr’s route in Glenwood Canyon
  • Denver & Rio Grande Western F9A No. 5771, which pulled the original Zephyr and its Rio Grande successor, will be open for cab tours
  • Video documentaries about the California Zephyr will be shown

It should be a nice event and I'm looking forward to attending.

I'm curious, could a full Cal Zephyr consist be assembled today?  Interior modifications would be OK but full skirts would be required.  I'm thinking the baggage car might be the most difficult.

If you could post photos of the event on Trainorders, that would be very nice!

I wish there had been more notice spread around than 2 weeks in advance.  Now I can't make it.
