Strasburg RR Names New President
Author: pt199

Eric Hoerner has been named as board chairman and interim president of Pennsylvania-based Strasburg Rail Road.
He replaces Jim Hager, who resigned from his post on Feb. 26. Hoerner is a Lancaster business executive having founded and served as partner and CEO of Greenleaf Investment.
He will becomes the fifth person since 2018 to lead the 3.5-mile Strasburg, which has been in operation for 192 years.

The Strasburg carries about 300,000 passengers a year and hauls about 500 cars a year of freight.
Hager had served as president of the Strasburg for 19 months before stepping down. He will continue to service the Strasburg as general manager until March 28 when he is expected to leave for a job at another railroad that has not been publicly identified. From the akronrrblog

Five leaders in six years is a troubling sign.

But, the new freight yard seems to be productive, and they occasionally switch the Paradise interchange with steam power.
