Steam & Excursion > C&T Last Fall From Jensen's CameraDate: 04/06/24 12:49 C&T Last Fall From Jensen's Camera Author: MaryMcPherson Rolling into Chama, New Mexico, last September found the video gear stashed in their trunks. Knowing we were going to have several days of filming, we decided to just break out the still cameras as we picked up the daily train from Antonito as we arrived from an overnight in Kansas. I was shooting black & white film, while Kurt was shooting with a Canon Rebel XS DSLR.
1. We arrived at Los Pinos about 15 minutes before the train did... pretty good timing as we were wrapping several hundred miles of driving that had commenced before dawn. This photo finds the train traversing the valley before reaching the horseshoe curve. 2. Now dropping downgrade, the train approaches the Highway 17 crossing near Dalton. 3. Does this trestle really need an introduction? Mary McPherson Dongola, IL Diverging Clear Productions Date: 04/06/24 12:53 Re: C&T Last Fall From Jensen's Camera Author: MaryMcPherson 4. We rolled into town with the train a few minutes behind. Shooting the obligatory coal tower shot, it was time to get settled into our hotel home for the next several days.
5. Four days later, we switched back to still photography with the final train we saw before leaving for Durango. I like this angle Kurt shot of #484 during the stop at the summit. 6. Another angle Kurt found, this one at Coxo with Windy Point for a background.
