Steam & Excursion > Strasburg Rail Road SteamDate: 08/26/24 07:44 Strasburg Rail Road Steam Author: ClubCar Over the past few months, Strasburg Rail Road #89, a 2-6-0 steam engine has been hard at work pulling their excursion trains and this past Saturday, the engine was also used to switch freight cars down in their new yard in Paridise in place of their diesel engine. What is the status of their other steam engines, especially #90? Thanks for any information you can give us.

Probably one of a very few steam engines in the US that uses all 1472 service days. Look for 90 either fall or Christmas trains.

All brand new tubes had been delivered and were waiting on the shop floor. The ultrasound had been done and all the measurements were on the boiler shell. It's a priority project for SRC as they only have one heavy engine, 475. No pictures are allowed on shop tours for client confidentiality reasons.
