The map on the UP steam website shows the 4014 using the Indiana Harbor Belt line via Proviso, McCook and Dolton as its route through the Chicago area.

What is the date of that move? Assume they will be departing from their display site in Rochelle, IL

Thanks for the info. I may just watch it negotiate the curve at 47th Street and East Ave. in LaGrange, depending on the weather.

I’m happy 4014 will be using the IHB tracks between Proviso and Dolton. My money was always on this routing as it seems to be the most direct and most logical. I think I’ll be out at 31st Street in LaGrange Park. It’s walking distance from my home.
I’m happy too to see the tracking device working on 4014. I’ll be able to track it when I believe it’s getting close, or at least working its way through/around Proviso Yard. I’ve invited several friends to come out with me to see it pass by.
Jack, come out to 31st Street. Ed can stop and pick you up there and drop you off at East Avenue/47th Street. I’ll drive you back to your car.
