4014's Passenger Consist
Author: RailRat

Just a thought that I think it's really cool and a bit more elegant or stately to see 4014 with those UP passenger cars trailing behind it.

What was the big guy's name who cooked on the Cabarton back in the '90s.?  I think it was Joe.  I don't remember a Willie James.
Joe was a fantastic cook.

I also was wondering who Willie James was. I know about Walter Dean and the
well deserved naming of his UP Heritage car. But- nothing about Willie James.
The old Pullman porters, waiters, chefs etc were legendary men. The real
"Old Porters."

No. The "big power car" is for the consist of business cars, while the Howard Fogg is part of the permanent steam crews consist, and powers all their equipment.

Hi,  Willie James was the Chef on that car for many many years.  They honored him on his retirement.  He was very surprised!!

He cooked for the crews on the steam trains (1980-90s) & business car trains.  Bet he cooked a million meals over this time on the car.

Walter Dean was the attendent for Drew Lewis (days when he was CEO).  Drew honored him by naming the car.

Walter always had Drew's drinks ready for him,
