Nice shots :-) Date: 09/27/24 16:35 Re: UP4014....the long and the short of it Author: Stevo_Weimario Nice images!
When did the cylinder and valve cover decorative plates come off? S_W Date: 09/27/24 18:52 Re: UP4014....the long and the short of it Author: refarkas The second photo is my favorite of the two.
Bob Date: 09/27/24 23:17 Re: UP4014....the long and the short of it Author: hawkinsun Nice photos. I hope they stashed that nice golden headlight reflector somewhere safe. I like the second photo too, and with the original style headlight . I'm not bitching at the use of the new one though.
Makes perfectly good sense. C. Hanson Vay, ID Date: 09/27/24 23:20 Re: UP4014....the long and the short of it Author: jbwest The wide angle was about 38 mm (not really very wide), the tele shot about 210mm, both with a DX sensor. I also prefer the telephoto effect.

The interesting thing here is using both wide angle & telephoto while shooting steam. Unless your name was 'Richie Rich', the choice of focal lengths was a luxury unheard of during the classic steam era! A job well done, resulting in an IOTD! Kudos!!! :^) Lance Date: 09/28/24 12:34 Re: UP4014....the long and the short of it Author: coach I see the cab "sagging" downward in the telephoto shot: were the cabs built that way, or have they simply sagged over time due to age? 8444 had the same issue.
