Steam & Excursion > She wore her green wellDate: 09/30/24 21:15 She wore her green well Author: srman From when she was built in 1911 until the 1960's Southern 4501 was black however it wore her green well for nearly thirty years. She represented the Southern's heritage of when PS4's raced along its track from 1926 into the 1940's. Here are three images taken in 1991 at Chattanooga, Danville Ky. and finally at Hollywood Alabama. Thanks for looking.

No matter what, it's great she is still out there running. Date: 10/01/24 06:48 Re: She wore her green well Author: srfreer Frisco1522 Wrote:

The front step is still white because one of the engineers who likes flamboyant looking engines ripped the black tape off. Having been on her, and attempted to fire her, on the K&T, during Paul Marriman's learning and purchase of her in 1963, I've always preferred her in Southern black.
