Tunnel Tuesday: Big Tunnel, Little Train
Author: march_hare

Northern Central's beautifully preserved re-created 4-4-0 emerges from an oversized, formerly double track tunnel. I can't remember the name of the tunnel but it's really close to the MD/PA state line.

A Carl Franz charter, March 2022.

Howard Tunnel, x-PRR, Northern Central origin
As posted elsewhere, this engine is down for a 1472.
This is north of Seven Valleys, PA., about 15 miles north of the MD state line.

See March 1979 TRAINS for a 2-page spread by Jim Bradley  when PC passenger trains still ran there.

I hope they went easy on that smoke while in the tunnel.
