Reading Northern 2102 10/26/2024
Author: globalethanol

Perklocal and myself set out this morning to chase
Reading and Northern`s final Fall Foliage trip with
former Reading T-1 2102 from North Reading to
Jim Thorpe. First stop was the upper end of North Reading
yard at Tuckerton, Pa. We saw 2102 getting a roll on the
train coming through the yard. Then after deciding to avoid
the crowd it was off to East Mahanoy Jct. to see 2102
working on the grade above Tamaqua. 2102 made short work
of it with the 16 car train. It was halftime for us already.
After a mini-pause at the Beacon Diner in Hometown it
was off to Jim Thorpe to see the train turn on the wye.

enjoy, twl

Super video.
I was trying to figure out what kind of 4 wheel trucks were under some of the coaches.  Almost look like freight trucks, but couldn't get a good enough look at them as they went by.

Commuter passenger cars had all sorts of 2 axle trucks, depending on the various railroads they came from. They all certainly had longer wheel bases than standard freight trucks, so no freight trucks under these coaches.
