Feb 8 could be interesting.  Open window anyone?  Tempting to chase.   $79 is just amazing.

What is the best trip exhaust wise?  I'd like to see if 2102 is as loud as 1522.  I have tinnitus from running her but it was worth it.

They're all good trips in that regard! The grades are a little longer on the Lehigh Line (3rd & 4th trips), but the grade out of Tamaqua and Hometown Hill on the Jim Thorpe trips are just as challenging.

I think I might have to cancel on the Florida trip in two weeks and do the Reading in February! That sounds interesting although it would be nice to get away from Winter in Florida for a few days. I wish I could afford to do both.

Steam in the snow....nothing could be finer !!!  Lord willing I'll be on the Feb. 8th. trip happily next to my open window in coach # 4 with enough cover to ward off the cold. Can't wait!!  Thanks again to Andy Muller and his team for providing us steamaholics with our drug of choice !!!  This is as close as you can get to the Full Monty with the only thing missing is 79 mph track speed. Oh well, plenty close enough.

Here's wishing everyone a healthy, rewarding, steam filled 2025.  Ross Rowland

Reminds me of a cold February 1968, Steam in The Snow
double-header:  ex-CP 1278, 4-6-2 & Strasburg # 90, 2-10-0....
After leaving Wlikes-Barre, Pa.  And a broken spring-plank,
on #1 tender truck,( Archbar Trucks),
derailed, and with a full train of customers...

It took 5 or 6 hours before we got #90 on its way to Bethlehem's
Roundhouse.  No. 90 went, light, to Bethlehem, later 1278 took the
train to its origin station ...

After the sun came up, it was still about 10F, but  warm steamheat in
the train sure made catching a snooze much easier..

BRRRRR..
