Well general admission to the grounds was unlimited at $5 per car, but I got the idea they were selling shop tours right up to the end too.

Business car "Selma."  We weren't allowed to ride in it.

Thanks Andy, im glad you got a photo of her. I was excited when the said they were going to return her to WP green and orange Feather River, but it seems its the lowest of priorities on any of their to do list and doesn't attract many camera lenses.

It seems like most of their work at Silvis is focused on track and MOW equipment repair.  There is almost always some kind of dump train or tie machinery or rail grinder out there being worked on.  They've got several tracks in the yard and I'd say half of the shop building.  There are 10 or 15 old SD40 type units outside for fodder.  Inside the building was a mostly disassembled Loram CF7, an NS switch engine and a Conrail SD50 or '60 which if I had to guess I'd say will become one of those barn type units that they're putting on MOW trains these days.  Here is another photo of the NRE end of the building.  You can kind of see the NS switcher back there in the middle.  Plus there's an old passenger car which may go onto a rail grinder train.

I don't know the process but I'd guess it's primer, paint, and clear coat, one coat of each.  Maybe others know more?

Always thought I would get to meet Wes Camp there and he could walk me through the shops. We had talked back channel about that and it was on my list. When I get there I’ll definitely have a cold one for him.

Very nice tour pics Andy, Thank you from people like me who would love to go there bit probably never will make it.

Really like those last few wide angle(?) pics of 3985's boiler without the engine assembly underneath, really shows how massive that boiler really is.

What’s the status on the Stanford? I haven’t seen any photos or updates of it ever since they painted it Two-Tone Gray.
