Steam & Excursion > Nickel Plated Homecoming on the Wheeling [Volume II]Date: 05/06/25 06:39 Nickel Plated Homecoming on the Wheeling [Volume II] Author: nathansixchime Yesterday was the first time in nearly 68 years that a Nickel Plate steam locomotive has run over the Cleveland division of the Wheeling in Lake Erie District. The 765 left the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad for the Wheeling & Lake Erie Railway's Brewster Yard, where it met back up with SD9 358, fresh off some fine-tuning from the Brewster Shops and several over-the-road jobs, including a few solo runs on the local. For one week in May, it's Nickel Plate country again.
