Nostalgia & History > Mopac Monday - Cool Off Climbing Kirkwood HillDate: 07/07/24 22:19 Mopac Monday - Cool Off Climbing Kirkwood Hill Author: ironmtn Here’s a chance to cool off a bit on a hot summer's day, as a UP eastbound manifest for St. Louis heads up Kirkwood Hill near Valley Park, Mo. in Feb. 1985. Led by ex-Missouri Pacific B30-7A 4832 (built 1/82), and smoking it up as GEs would often do, the all-Erie-built lashup is still unpatched, and still entirely in Jenks Blue several years after merger with UP in 1982.
