Nostalgia & History > Gildersleeve copy slide classics (vol 29): MILW Juice!Date: 07/10/25 07:14 Gildersleeve copy slide classics (vol 29): MILW Juice! Author: santafe199 This is pretty rare for a Gildersleeve set list, but actual photographer credit is very sketchy. I’m pretty sure I found all the correct captions. If not, I’ll certainly stand for any corrections...

I became utterly fascinated by the Pacific Extension and electric operations (or at least its vestiges) when I lived in Missoula in the mid-90s. Prior to that, being in Kansas, the Milwaukee was very foreign. I guess we kinda took the same path for a bit. Date: 07/10/25 07:27 Re: Gildersleeve copy slide classics (vol 29): MILW Juice! Author: jdtravis That 3rd photo looks like the cover of a former Christmas card!

Thanks Mike, got it fixed... :^) Date: 07/10/25 08:27 Re: Gildersleeve copy slide classics (vol 29): MILW Juice! Author: callum_out Excellent Butte shot, locale easily identified by the corner of the yard office peeking into the shot.

Absolutely, you bet! So many of the images I am posting nowadays are coming out of collections from deceased friends of mine who I made promises to. It is well worth the hours spent scanning & Photoshopping. If ever the phrase “labor of love” was to apply to this hobby it is right now… Edited 2 time(s). Last edit at 07/10/25 21:04 by santafe199. Shot #2 *might* be by Charles Heimerdinger Jr., I took a quick trip through his Milwaukee slides and verified that he was present at the same place and same time as all four of these photos, but that was the only one that lines up with one he shot. All of his other slides he's standing next to or in the immediate vicinity of the photographer of these images. Charles made at least a couple trips to the Milwaukee in at least the first half of the 1960s, on at least this November 1964 trip he was there with Tom Gildersleeve and Gordon Glattenberg, so these four are almost certainly by one of those three. Thanks for posting these! Edited to add here is Heimerdinger's photo shot at the same time as #3, plus another one of his from around that same time. Jeff Moore Elko, NV Edited 2 time(s). Thanks for this extra info! When I get a chance, I'll dig into it and see if we can add Charles' name for photo credit... Lance Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 07/11/25 07:02 by santafe199. Considering the years I’ve known you, and considering the explanation about your screen name on TO I fully understand your one word response. And you should take that as an over-the-top extreme compliment… 😎😎😎 (no translation needed)… Posted from iPhone |
