When variety was the norm at Dunsmuir

As the sun slowly sets in the west a couple of eastbounds are ready to do battle with the stiff climb out of Dunsmuir Yard and the grade above Cantara Loop.

Maybe the hornologists could ID the horns for reference, thanks.

We moan about the UP but imagine how those Rio Grande fans felt when Anschutz merged the Rio Grande (at least operationally) into the SP. I'll never forge the first time I saw a Colorado State Highway map showing "SPT" as the railroad over Tennessee Pass.

I'm with ya, where's Doc Brown and the Delorean when you need them? Great pic Bob, wish SP was still alive now, they sure wouldn't be in a big mess now or even the meltdown of 97 if UP left SP Alone!
