The First Warbonnets!
Author: WPMan

Here's a scan that I just made taken by David R. Busse of FP45 #101 at Sullivan's Curve in Cajon Pass. The date was July 5, 1989. I believe this was their maden run in the new Warbonnet paint scheme. The train was held at this location for several minutes while the company photographer, (and many other fans), recorded the event.

This photo will be used on the packaging for the Pentrex "Best of 1989" DVD that will be released soon. It's really interesting to look back at how much of the railroading scene as changed in 16 years.

Promoting the return of the red/silver warbonnet, Santa Fe's publicity train approaches MP56 at Cajon Summit in February 1989.

Notice all the footprints in the snow. Must have been some foamers with cold feet!

Thanks for sharing these pictures. I hope you don't mind if I pick them up for my refrence file.

Lament: If only, that image could have held it's grasp on the BNSF merger.

I suppose it's an interesting demonstration of how far model railroading has come. When I looked at the F7, and F3 B-unit I thought, "nice pair of Genesis F-units. Oh, wait a minute...that's the real deal!" :)
