Nostalgia & History > Rio Grande M64 #1710Date: 10/26/05 21:46 Rio Grande M64 #1710 Author: xtra1188w Y'all are lamenting the passing of the Rio Grande's SD40T-2's, GP40-2s and etc., but I still haven't recovered from losing the last M64, M68, L131, C48 and so on............ Now y'all will just have your pictures and models to keep the story alive, like I have this image of the 1710. She was a beauty, wasn't she?

They had some neat power. Thanks for sharing! Z Date: 10/27/05 00:20 Re: Rio Grande M64 #1710 Author: NGotwalt She was a beauty at that, why couldn't the Grande been like the PRR, save one of every class. Of course that meant the coolest class wouldn't survive...alas no T1s. I just wish I could have seen a Grande Challenger, Mountain, or my favorite the 2-6-6-0s. A T1 would have been nice too.

It was probably used by the head brakeman, just like the little cubby hole in the front of some NH tenders on the fireman's side.................... C.C.Chas.
PS... Great shot by the way. C.C.C. |
