Nostalgia & History > Flagstaff in more interesting timesDate: 10/31/05 14:23 Flagstaff in more interesting times Author: FT When I lived in Utah, I tried to make one or two trips to the norhhern AZ area a year. The
number of trains and SF variety in the high country was a strong magnet for this boy. March of '74 and the high thin clouds helped soften the light for this west bound in the AM. Full sun can be a problem on e-w tracks, if the trains are out of the sun. I was stopping over on my way back from Mexico. Had to kick back with some "modern" power after all those FA's and FM's. I think that smoke at the rear of the set was a gator. Keith A Date: 10/31/05 15:55 Re: Flagstaff in more interesting times Author: GrandeGold Wow! Awesome photo, Keith.
What time frame did you live in Utah? Didn't Kenneth live in Utah at one time as well? James Date: 10/31/05 16:01 Re: Flagstaff in more interesting times Author: Lone Star Sweet photo. Looks like two gators back there...
John Date: 10/31/05 16:05 Re: Flagstaff in more interesting times Author: bnsfbob This is a splendid shot. Back then, you would expect to see the FP's leading the Super-C and not a manifest.

Great photo Keith. Tom Date: 10/31/05 17:03 Re: Flagstaff in more interesting times Author: 3rdswitch One word, bitchin!

Ken and I were in Utah from about '70 to '77. Pretty sure I met you as a youngster at a slide show at Don Strack's place. You were all flustered as I had shots of the CZ with a different F than they ended up running the last few years it operated. I think it was the 5761. Date: 10/31/05 22:21 Re: Flagstaff in more interesting times Author: ProAmtrak Nice pic, no snow for once being in the winter (and 3 months before I was born) but I can imagine the variety then. How heavy was the Santa Fe Traffic through there then anyway!
