Has to be westbound. No mountains in the background.

Actually, the shadow on the side means it has to be westbound. That late in the year (note brown grass) means the sun is to the south, and thus the shadow below the units.

My guess is early Sept. Note the wheat in the background is dry.

i'm going to say E/b the tracks are still there as far Gordon or the next elevator east Merriman. Run by Nebkota from Chadron. To the poster who may think this is east of gordon, no way.

Belive the rails have been torn up it's now a trail. C&NW abandoned this line in 1992.

It's eastbound. Track is still in all the way to Merriman, NE.
Highway off to left is US 20 and tracks stay north of it in this portion of the line.
