Are these engines still around? I wouldn't be surprised if they were...

DS-2 is at the Western Railway Museum. They got it as part of a trade with FRRS this year.

I think DS-5 (the red, white, & blue one) is still around. I'm pretty sure I've seen it recently. SLG&W runs an ex-UP SW-10 also, or maybe in place of these others. In fall 1983 I rode a "fan trip" on the SLG&W a few miles west toward the Great Salt Lake and back. The rolling stock included ex-Amtrak exx-Burlington dome coach "Silver Ranch" and a couple of ex-Amtrak exx-Santa Fe chair cars. Not sure what the motive power was, maybe DS-2??

Here is DS2 in the Portola UP yard 9/22/02 (they can't fit everything onto the FRRS grounds probably). Did not see it out there when I revisited this past August.

I remember seeing the red, white and blue one back in 1993, working for the state, commuting to work I had the pleasure of being held up by a 3-way meet at 900W in Salt Lake City--UP EB, UP WB, and SLG&W. Thanks for the pic--wish I'd have had a camera then...
