That was also the only time it would ever be clean Too bad clean locomotives where a rules violation on the SP

Well, since the 8300-8306 an 8350-8356 were delivered in 1974, they wouldn't really have qualified as new in November 1984...

          Why would anyone need to 'reorganise' the numbers and confuse the issue. They are in the 8300 class, SD/40T-2.
