Yeah, I know, the Santa Fe is a first class railroad in every sense of the word, but the "nickname" just fits the initials.

Actually, up until about 1964, if the AT&SF was in Texas, it wasn't really the AT&SF, it was the GC&SF, or the P&SF plus a couple of other variations, but I forget what the others were. There was also the FW&RG, but I think that was the really Frisco, and the GC&SF just bought the FW&RG from the SLSF many moons ago.

Con,

During WWII, when many of the younger railroaders went into the military, it was said that AT&SF stood for Aged Trainmen & Student Firemen.

Yeah, that works for me. I've also heard that BNSF is Big New Super Frisco, that sounds okay to me also.
