In Aug '73, four exSP F's were leading Amtrak train #1, the westbound Sunset Limited through Sierra Blanca, TX.

Very well could be since the SP handed off those units to Amtrak

A few questions about this picture:

1. I see high-level cars at the end. At this early date were they using ex-SF cars on the train?
2. I also see cars in front of the baggage car. Are these crew cars, or deadheading cars?

Thanks for posting this slide as SP 6450 was on the point of SP #2 when I saw it in San Antonio, TX in the summer of 1968. --Kelly
