This train was pulling a heavy rock train up a stiff grade just east of Burnet Texas. Burnet is about 50 miles west of Austin.

This caboose was bringing up the rear of the rock train. I can't recall ever seeing a picture of #1776 on Trainorders, or much of any place else either for that matter. Are images of #1776 rare?

It must have been cold the day this picture was made, notice the oil smoke coming out of the caboose smoke jack.

Can't have been too cold, conductors short sleeved arm is hanging out the window!
