St Johnsbury & Lamoille County Caboose 6 Burned 1978
Author: cozephyr

St. Johnsbury and Lamoille County caboose 6 was supposedly torched by striking railroad workers. I came across it at Rouses Point, NY, March 23, 1978 on the Delaware & Hudson RR.

Second view shows same caboose at Plattsburg, NY, October 23, 1977 on a Delaware & Hudson train.

Hey now what do ya know! Had cabeese on the brain today by chance while foaming sunny green Altamont and the Tracy area. Here is SP 4756 taken today, March 19th, 2006 in Tracy, CA! If you look hard enough, they still exist around Class I RR yards. Catch is they have been degraded classified as shoving platforms for various locals. Cool thing is I caught a non-graffitied one finally!

A "shoving platform" doesn't entitle the conductor to a caboose claim for no electricity, water, toilet, seats, etc.
