Nostalgia & History > 1978 wreck in uintahDate: 03/30/06 10:55 1978 wreck in uintah Author: lee_uintah A neighbor provided me with these photos from a grade crossing accident in Uintah on September 11, 1978. (The grade crossing is where I now live.) A WB train headed by two 6900's and an SD40-2 (I think) ran into a lowboy truck which had high-centered on the tracks. The lowboy was carrying a bulldozer. Part of the lowboy was under the lead locomotive, causing it to derail.
These 3 photos show the cleanup work by the cranes. Three more photos to follow. That's all there is. Date: 03/30/06 10:57 Re: 1978 wreck in uintah Author: lee_uintah Here's the last three photos. (I realize the photo quality is not the best, but decided to post for the historical value.)
