This was a sharp looking paint job in the day compared to the red dots. Locomotive 902 makes a stop with an eastbound commute at Santa Clara in January of 1990. It is sporting Rio Grande style numberboards after a visit to the Roseville shops.

They used those as their basic factory applied number style during the 50's and 60's. Some roads kept them on the locomotives permanently. Surprised to see one show up on a Caltrain engine though.
