Amtrak 111 leading the Fun Train West out of Truckee in early March of 1976 with what proved to be the last all F unit train to cross Donner Pass.

Nice stuff Drew.. Do you or anyone have a closer shot of the Amtrak 123 (in SP paint) that they can share?

Cheers,
Harry

Those are nice shots Drew. It almost brings a tear to your eye when you see what we have today. Heres 6461 in the Black Widow scheme in the early 60's. This is the Shasta Daylight at the east switch of Obrien. The sunset shield is missing from this unit.

WOW..Thanks Guys for all the SP/Amtrak FP7 pix, and to Keith for not only the 123, but also the 118 in "patched" former Amtrak paint. Great stuff! My first trip on a train was behind FP7s from this Fun train/San Joaquin group o' units.

Cheers,
Harry

I would guess Port Chicago, stopping to make the crew change.

Tracktime loves those 70's patch photos!

Interesting to see the different ways those FP-7s were painted

Some were later renumbered again, first into the 300's then 400's. Two units survived in service as late as 1979 to provide steam for the fun train.
