AMTK 2002 at Stockton Tower 3-95
Author: drew1946

March 1995, F59PHI 2002 passing Stockton Tower, from the number of cars parked on the other side of the track, probably Winterail Weekend.

Eleven years later---The tower is gone, no more baggage cars on the San Joaquin, the track in the forground is gone along the UP (former WP) mainline it connected to and 2002 is laid up awaiting repairs.

Any word. If that Baggage Car is still on Amtrak's Roster. Or did they retire it?

Cool photo Drew. Definitely a transitional time for Amtrak and Stockton Tower/the doamonds. Any word on what heritage that weird double door baggage car used to be? Also trying to find out if any ex-Zephyr baggage cars became Amtrak phase II baggages...

The baggage car appears to be an ex VIA 1000-1006 series.
