397 on other side of Cornelius Pass Tunnel

A little over a year later, a 397 emerges from the "west" end of Cornelius Pass Tunnel heading for Albany Yard.

Wow, very nice.

After visiting the Cornelius Pass Tunnel for the first time last summer, it's nice to see what it looked like back in the BN days.

What has the purpose of that small spur been over the years? Has it only been used for MofW purposes or did they ever use helpers on the pass?

Now if i am right, BN wasnt too fond of ALCoa were they?

The third picture shows a partial view of a box car with the name "LACKAWANA" on it's side. It was a long way from home in those days. Great information.
