Nostalgia & History > More 1974Date: 05/12/06 08:10 More 1974 Author: SP6190 The first shot is Santa Fe 286C northbound in the early morning near Winfield KA. Notice how the dynamic brakes have been removed on the 286C. The second shot is Amtrak 507, southbound near Winfield. The third is Santa Fe 275L backing out to the main line after doing some work in the yard at Winfield KA. 275L would end up being one of the last, if not the last "F" A-unit operating on the Santa Fe.
   Date: 05/12/06 08:19 Re: More 1974 Author: SP6190 The location is now Paola KA. The first train was MP 812, the second is MKT 201 south, and finally Frisco 641 south with on of the few remaining Frisco "F" units left at the time.

When Santa Fe still provided crews for Amtrak, I fired quite a bit on #15 & 16 before they pulled it off.
