Freedom Train card souvenir
Author: xtra1188w

The Freedom train ran in (?) 1948 I think, or perhaps it was 1949. I can vaguely remember going down to see it and to look through its exhibits when it made a stopover at the Union Depot in Salt Lake City. Then as now, I always have like collecting all of the "free" souvenirs that I can find. One of my big regrets these days is not keeping all of the public timetables that I picked up from depots like Pueblo Union Station, Fort Worth Texas T&P Station, and etc. Another thing that I used to scarf up on was free stationery and envelopes, along with postcards on trains like the Texas Zephyr, the Prospector and so forth.

Nice display Con. The Freedom Train post card in Washington D.C. was painted by Howard Fogg, and printed in the book "Howard Fogg and the Diesel Image".
