Nostalgia & History > Freedom Train card souvenirDate: 08/01/06 21:53 Freedom Train card souvenir Author: xtra1188w The Freedom train ran in (?) 1948 I think, or perhaps it was 1949. I can vaguely remember going down to see it and to look through its exhibits when it made a stopover at the Union Depot in Salt Lake City. Then as now, I always have like collecting all of the "free" souvenirs that I can find. One of my big regrets these days is not keeping all of the public timetables that I picked up from depots like Pueblo Union Station, Fort Worth Texas T&P Station, and etc. Another thing that I used to scarf up on was free stationery and envelopes, along with postcards on trains like the Texas Zephyr, the Prospector and so forth.
