Nostalgia & History > fuzzy SP shots with a "brick"Date: 08/12/06 22:20 fuzzy SP shots with a "brick" Author: TonyJ Back in 1961 I was using an old Ansco "brick" to shoot some b&w film. In 1961 SP Alco S-4 #1526 was switching piggyback cars on one of the switching leads to Mission Bay Yard. In the foreground is part of the wye that left the doubletrack SP main past Potrero Tower and Mission Bay Roundhouse. At the time of the photo the tower was closed and the roundhouse nearly gone. Only the two diamonds that led to the roundhouse remained for a little while longer.
Over at Seventh & Townsend the afternoon lull finds Alco S-2 #1304 and FM H-22-66 #4811 resting between assignments. - Tony J. Date: 08/12/06 23:42 Re: fuzzy SP shots with a "brick" Author: mwbridgwater Great SP history. Sad to see just the diamonds left... that's some historic trackage, there.

Thanks Tony, Nudge |
