Now that is a really nice flat car load. And they put the engine AND tender all on the same car. Nowadays you see the engine on one car and the tender on another car. That is if you see a steam engine on a flat car at all. Thanks for posting that great shot Con......... C.C.Chas.

I see that the locomotive is riding on a Milwaukee Road flatcar. This is the second photo I've seen of a MILW flatcar being used to transport a narrow gauge locomotive. A MILW flatcar was also used to ship a Eastern Tennessee and Western North Carolina locomotive to the White Pass & Yukon Rwy. during WWII. I'll have to see if I can locate the photo in my files.
