Nowadays you see the engine on one car and the tender on another car. That is if you see a steam engine on a flat car at all. Thanks for posting that great shot Con......... C.C.Chas.

I see that the locomotive is riding on a Milwaukee Road flatcar. This is the second photo I've seen of a MILW flatcar being used to transport a narrow gauge locomotive. A MILW flatcar was also used to ship a Eastern Tennessee and Western North Carolina locomotive to the White Pass & Yukon Rwy. during WWII. I'll have to see if I can locate the photo in my files. |
