1991. Whoa, Con. Has it really been that long? On my one trip to the "Hill County" she was out of service with the craked cylinder saddle, so I never saw her run. How is she doing these days?

You don't really wanna know! I didn't know that one steam locomotive could be broken down into as many parts as has been done with 786. They say that they're making progress in getting her rebuilt for service again, but I ain't holding my breath.

according to the website, www.austinsteamtrain.org
786's boiler and frame are in two different shops in Alabama, having work done.
