I also remember the 1128 being kept at Novato when my wife & I first moved up here in late '78. She derailed out by the Hwy. crossing near Sears Point on January 31, 1979 and was taken to Roseville, never to return.
Thanks for sharing these, they tend to get forgotten because all the Cadillacs that the NWP was more known for. Tom Date: 10/05/06 16:59 Re: SP Non GP or SD on NWP Author: WAF The NWP had its own set of SW 1500s in numberical order.. 2591 to 2595. Stayed on the NWP until 1984 or so.

Besides Petaluma, I think Ukiah also had a switch engine assigned there. 2540 and 2701 worked the Petaluma & Santa Rosa in the late 70's. Tom Date: 10/06/06 06:25 Re: SP Non GP or SD on NWP Author: WAF Let's see. Petaluma, Santa Rosa, Healdsburg, Ukiah, Willits and Eureka had switchers assigned.

The 1116 and the 1128 were paired up for quite a spell out of Santa Rosa. Can't forget the old 1025 that switched out of Santa Rosa also. Think the Alco was used on the P&SR mostly. But did see it coming out of San Rafael with a work train in tow. Date: 10/07/06 13:58 Re: SP Non GP or SD on NWP Author: Amtkrd4man Then there were days the the U boats invaded....

Tom Date: 10/08/06 06:22 Re: SP Non GP or SD on NWP Author: WAF That would be even rarier considering the date. The FPs got into Willits in the sixties on passenger excursions
