I got these pictures from my Brother, I wish I had his other pictures from the 50's he gave them away!

This MKT engine, I think in the Kansas City yards. I really like seeing the person on top of the box car, you won't see that anymore!

The second is a picture from 1962 of the MOP local switching at McPherson Kansas. It ran from Wichita through El Dorado, then up to Newton and McPherson. The Track has been pulled from El Dorado towards Newton.

This picture I took on a work train, dumping ballast on a branch off the ATSF Middle Division (Western), probably on the Scott City Branch Line... In the late 60's.....

Shows how badly the branch line had suffered by the middle of the 60's. Actually the ATSF improved these branches in 1970's before they abandoned them....

Here's a derailment in Dodge City East End, in July 1967.

Yes, the ATSF had trackage rights to McPherson for awhile from Newton to McPherson. Sometime around then the UP completely rebuilt the branch from Salina down through El Dorado, and ran coal trains..... before the rerouted them again.

UP had a branch from Salina that ended in McPherson, and the MOP ended in McPherson, when they combined the railroads, the UP combined these branches....
