Nostalgia & History > Santa FeDate: 12/29/06 08:03 Santa Fe Author: RebStout This very unusual item came from my younger sister Marilyn, who resides back in Colorado Springs. The cover is a bit ratty, but all the inside pages are in fine condition.
I didnt even know Santa Fe produced such a booklet. I scanned some of the more interesting pages , comparing railroad statistics and costs and opinions to those of todays railroads. You wouldnt believe all the info in this Almanac. Everything from Weather Wisdom to gum drops to calendars to recipes to how to make apricot-pineapple preserves! I reckon thats what an almanac is all about Almanac #1 Front cover. Almanac #2 Security of millions depends on railroads. Almanac #3 Government ownership of railroads. (This one is extremely interesting). Date: 12/29/06 08:05 Re: Santa Fe Author: RebStout Almanac #4 Railroad passenger traffic.
Almanac #5 The railroads and the leaders of tomorrow. Almanac #6 Fair treatments to the railroads can end the depression. Date: 12/29/06 08:07 Re: Santa Fe Author: RebStout Almanac #7 Economy in railroading.
Almanac #8 Durable goods and the railroads. Almanac #9 Death drives. (Check this one out!) Date: 12/29/06 08:08 Re: Santa Fe Author: RebStout Almanac #10 Railroad taxes.
Almanac #11 Loss and damage. (Wonder what these numbers are today?) Almanac #12 Santa Fe ad. Date: 12/29/06 08:10 Re: Santa Fe Author: RebStout Almanac #13 Buy a farm in a Santa Fe state. (This ad is rather unique).
Almanac #14 Santa Fe service. End of Santa Fes Everymans Almanac 1936 set. Enjoy! Reb Stout Anaheim, California Date: 12/29/06 09:20 Re: Santa Fe Author: pecosvalleychief What a cool document. I had no idea such a thing existed either. Thanks for more treasures!
