Can you read the road number on the rightmost RSD-5 in this shot?

Thanks for all the vintage ATSF!

WOW!!!
That ATSF 1709 is GREAT!!!
You can smell the smoke and feel the ground shake in that series of photos!!!
It leaves little for the imagination.

If you mean the set of two at Barstow, they are the 2131 and 2141.

Uh, oh. That creates a problem for the Great Dynamic Brake Debate of 2007, eh Evan?

I see that the ATSF 2099 was built as ALCo RS2 DEMO #1600.

Right. Then sold to the Santa Fe as their 2110. Renumbered to 2099 to make room for the RSD-5s.

It had dual controls and a steam generator.

Awsome pics of the old Santa Fe back before I was born! Wish I was born in the 60s or 50s instead of the 70s!

And interesting to see the pics of old Keenbrook.  I know where it is but I have never driven over there, on account of there is nothing left and there is not an especially great view compared to other spots in Cajon pass.  So it is interesting to see the station sign and some of the infrastructure that was there.
