One of my favorites, a business train for APL executives, running down the former WP trackage on 3rd Street in Oakland, CA. I forget the year, which is why I left it off, but I want to say 1994, corrections welcome.

Good one there, Frank. I'll be glad when/if the UP adds the large red "UNION PACIFIC" lettering to the noses of the E9s...in my opinion...they look a little "off", or, "incomplete", without it.

I know that the units were delivered without it (or at least the early E8s were...not sure the late-model E9s actually ever ran without the large red lettering, those that were delivered in the 1960s...the last E9s built), but, they DID spend most of their service lives with this lettering.
