Great stories about their building, as the railroads were urged to build nice depots in the various towns. Wonderful architecture, too. Thanks for the photos.

Much obliged to you for that shot of the Seguin Depot. Back in the late 1950s, I had to drive over to Seguin to the depot to pick my mother up. Mom was riding the "Sunset Limited" from Houston back to Luling after visiting relatives. At that time, the Sunset Limited did not stop in Luling to pick up or let off passengers. My Mother had to ride through Luling another 20 miles or so over to Seguin to get off the train. Needless to say, she wasn't very happy with the SP that day.
