Three - 9950, 9951 and 9952.

Actually, the designation is simply "U50" - not U50B or U50D. The U50C came later - and was only found on the UP for a few short years.

That thick cloud of smog in pictures 3 & 4 are what that area looked like most of the time back in those days, especially when Kaiser Steel in nearby Fontana was still in operation.

John, the shot of the U50's and the GP9 is bizarre because I have exactly the same picture with a different GP9 a few months earlier, you
wouldn't have thought that lashup was that common.
