It was headed for Ferrum and we were going to follow it. We never made it past Banning though, well actually it was the Truck Scales a few miles east of there. That's when my old 57 Ford decided it didn't want to run anymore. We sat all day in Banning watching the trains go by a couple of blocks away while they fixed the beast. Ten dollars for labor, twenty five cents for the part. It was cloudy anyway. Date: 03/14/07 15:39 Re: You never know what you might find! Author: SP6190 davew833 Wrote:

While I didn't want to make it my life's work, I fiddled with it a bit to try and restore the color. I believe that the last time she ran in the LA Area was for a 1960 Cinco de Mayo celebration. Following that, she was stored for a time at Taylor yard along with the 1765-which is now the centerpiece of the Lomita Railroad museum.

Any time you want to fiddle you have my permission. Date: 03/14/07 22:12 Re: You never know what you might find! Author: SCAX3401 I do believe that No. 75 was headed to the Eagle Mountain Railroad for filming "The Professionals". If I remember my dates correctly, they filmed in January and February of 1966. Today, No. 75 is restored, operational, and happy at its new home in Heber City, UT working on the Heber Valley Railroad.

...or could one have reasonably expected to see her looking like this at some time in regular service? Besides the paint, I don't seem to recall that type of stack in SP photos... Richard - San Leandro |
