Really good video. The cabooses marked dismantle...Sad I wish you guys would identify these places a little better, though...Colfax. WHERE?? And when, although with a caboose, I guess we figure out when the video was taken.

It's in Colfax, California. Train #6 would have departed Oakland (now Emeryville) earlier in the morning.

Edit: Interesting way the cars on #6 are positioned. Two sleepers up front (no Transition/Dorm car as they did not exist yet I don't think), and the diner is all the way in the rear. Is this because the Desert Wind and Pioneer would be added later?

Love that old school Cal Zephyr consist with the diner bringing up the rear! During that time, a sleeper was used for the Crew until the transition cars came into play. That's my favorite consist of all time for Amtrak. Great Espee train following behind as well.
