BCR SB Near Whistler Aug 1985
Author: Sneebly

I wish I could remember where the next slide is cuz the midtrain helpers are visible. A print of it is displayed in my home.

That's Gates Lake. The train is southbound just about at the top of the climb from Darcy to Birken, in fact the yellow sign just ahead and to the right of the lead unit says begin descending grade for northbound trains. The north switch at Birken is just behind you in this photograph.

Nice~ One of my favorite BCR locations. You can hear a southbound for a long time before it arrives. Back in pre GE days, the SB's had power all over those big trains with head end, mid train remotes and a pusher set cut in. You not heard anything until you've heard 10 alcos/mlw's pulling and pushing 100 loads over a 2.2 grade.
