"Bridge Railway" Before and After......
Author: KeyRouteKen

Photo number 1 depicts the construction of "Bridge Yard" near the toll plaza of the San Francisco--Oakland Bay Bridge. The yard will be shared by interurban trains of the Key System, the SP--IER and the Sacramento Northern. The yard will be equipped for both 600 volt and 1200 volt DC operation...

Photo number 2 depicts STEAM loco 202 shunting railfans and Key Units around whats left of Bridge Yard after abandonment. Not the absence of overhead trolley wires.

Photo number 3 depicts an extremely SAD site--- the scrapping operation of Key Units in Emeryville's "Yerba Buena Yard". Note the derelict remains of Tower 2 in the background: once a great sentinel overlooking "Emeryville Junction"...

What I find really interesting is the steam loco used 2 years after steam supposedly vanished from the rails.
